Electronic paper, also known as digital paper. It is a new type of flexible display that does not require a power supply and the content of the screen does not disappear and can be displayed continuously. It can be understood as a class of displays that are as thin as paper, flexible and deformable, and whose display content can be erased.

The principle of electronic paper is that the uppermost surface of a display based on e-ink technology is a transparent film that acts as one electrical extreme and the bottom acts as the other, filled with a large number of fine microcapsules, each containing positively charged white particles and negatively charged black particles that are suspended in a crystal solution in the middle. When negatively charged, the white particles move to the top of the microcapsules with a positive charge and the corresponding position is shown as white; the black particles reach the bottom of the microcapsules due to the negative charge and the force of the electric field, so that the display does not show black. If the electric field acts in the opposite direction, the display effect is also opposite, i.e. black is shown and white is hidden.

Electronic paper can be widely used in large shopping malls and supermarkets, warehouse storage shelves, chain shops, unmanned shops, hospital wards, conference venues and exhibition halls labels.

The advantages of electronic paper are.

1. Eye protection. Traditional displays are through the backlight or in the surrounding increased light source, these light sources through or reflect the contents of the screen to the human eye, which is more damage to the human eye; and electronic paper without backlight nor add light source, only the surrounding normal light reflected to the human eye, not affected by the surrounding environment, eye protection effect is obvious;.

2. Low energy consumption. Electronic paper only consumes very little power when the circuit is switched on and off, and the previous display image will always exist after power failure; at the same time, the image display process does not consume electricity and its display does not require background lighting; its energy consumption is about 1/100 to 1/10 of the ordinary LCD.

3. Thin and portable. Electronic paper products are very light and thin, only about 1 mm thick, the thinnest can reach 0.1 mm, and it can be bent or even folded.

4. Eco-friendly. Electronic paper can be reused tens of thousands of times or even hundreds of thousands of times, saving a lot of paper and electricity; the use of electronic paper display devices indirectly saves a lot of wood and other paper raw materials, thus protecting precious forest resources and energy.

Structure of electronic paper.

With the continuous popular application of electronic paper, the market's quality requirements for electronic paper are also increasing, and the factors that determine the quality of electronic paper are the quality of each part of the substrate and the stability of the sealing frame glue; the various substrates on the market are basically common, there is no major difference; and the key factor that plays is the quality of the sealing frame glue. The thickness of the electronic paper is getting thinner and thinner, the slightest leakage of the sealing frame adhesive will seriously affect the display of the electronic paper; the electronic paper can be folded or bent, which has high requirements for the adhesive strength of the sealing frame adhesive; the popularity of the electronic paper is getting higher and higher, and the sealing of the crystal solution must be ensured under various climatic conditions, so that it cannot leak. These factors determine the electronic paper needs a good adhesive, weather resistance, stability and ease of construction of the frame sealer.
