Along with the development of the Internet of Things, e-paper is widely used in various scenarios and fields from centimetre to metre size levels.
Electronic paper, also called e-ink screen, is a special display screen that can imitate the visual appearance of printing and writing on paper. The product is ultra-thin, bendable, visually comfortable, re-writable, portable, consumes less power and maintains its display even when the power is off, with the main features of low power consumption and visual health.
There are two common forms of electronic paper, one for the text and images can be written many times into the paper, that is, like a display like paper, and the other is for light, flexible, portable like paper display, the main products include electronic paper labels, electronic paper tablet, etc.; downstream is the electronic paper display products integrator, its main electronic paper display module integrated application in the end product.
It is a special chemical glue that is applied evenly around the edges of the transparent protective film to isolate water vapour. It prevents water vapour from penetrating around the transparent protective film and damaging the electronic paper film. E-paper displays rely on reflecting ambient light to display patterns, which have a paper-like effect. Compared with conventional transmissive LCDs, e-paper displays do not require a backlight and are easy to read. In addition, the e-paper display is soft, non-blinding, flicker-free and has a viewing angle of almost 180°.
Compared with ordinary LCDs, e-paper has a clear advantage in terms of thickness or weight, for reasons other than the simplicity of the structure, but also due to the fact that e-paper itself is based on a soft plastic film material; at the same time, this also creates its inherent flexibility and bendability; in addition, it can also be cut into various shapes as required. These advantages make it possible to "stick" to almost any product surface without being limited by the shape, size and structure of the product. It meets the needs of today's flexible display technology.
Reliability and endurance? Don't worry, the performance and longevity of e-paper has been proven over time and has proven to be stable and reliable. E-paper is capable of meeting the specifications and performance required by demanding industrial display products.
There are two main reasons why e-paper displays are great at saving power and energy. Firstly, it does not require backlighting, a major power consumer - a component that typically consumes more than 60% of the power of a normal LCD - and secondly, e-paper has an unusual characteristic - bistability. Bistability means that when displaying a static image, Celeron paper can consume no power at all - in other words, even if all power is disconnected, the e-paper display can still retain the last picture. This means that instead of having to constantly maintain a power supply for the e-paper display, as is the case with conventional LCDs, we only need to provide a small amount of power when switching between display screens. Not surprisingly, e-paper displays are much more energy efficient than traditional LCDs.
